A four day induction programme was very successful and it was a joy to get to know everyone, and to see friendships already being formed.
The aim of the week was to introduce our learners to the Summits programme, minimise any anxiety, stimulate an excitement for learning and allow them to settle in with confidence.
The learners enjoyed a series of engaging, team-building activities, all designed to allow them to become acquainted with each other and their new environment.
During the week, everyone was given a safety briefing and learned about important safeguarding measures, together with our online management system Gibbon, and Google Classroom.
An African Cultural Immersion Workshop was a huge hit, and learners participated in a trivia quiz, a Ndbele postcard making workshop, and a cooking class where a variety of dishes including chakalaka and anjera were prepared for a tasty lunch. It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved.
Back at Summits, learners made plans for a day out at Hong Kong Park, reflected on the week and discussed timetables for the coming week.
We have been very impressed by the enthusiasm shown by all our learners and we are looking forward to a productive year ahead.
